Characteristics:
Manufactured using a premium ceramic-metallic iron-graphite friction compound, this material is engineered to deliver reliable and consistent braking performance in both dry and wet operating conditions. Enhanced with finer performance additives than the K1 compound, it offers improved friction stability, wear resistance, and overall braking efficiency.
The friction material is completely lead-free and asbestos-free, ensuring safe and environmentally responsible performance.
Applications:
Designed for reliable performance in both dry and wet riding conditions, this friction material is suitable for road and off-road motorcycles. For road motorcycles, it is recommended for both front and rear brake applications, while for off-road motorcycles, it is primarily recommended for front brake use. Engineered for everyday street riding, it provides consistent braking performance, durability, and rider confidence across a wide range of operating conditions.
Material Features:
High coefficient of friction for strong and responsive braking performance.
Excellent wear resistance for extended service life
Consistent braking efficiency at operating temperatures up to 500°C.
Superior bonding between the copper-coated steel backing plate and the friction material for enhanced durability.
Low brake disc wear, helping to extend rotor life.
Up to three times longer service life compared to conventional organic brake pads.
Approximately 20% lower wear than comparable sintered brake pads in the same category under normal road riding conditions
Recommended Operating Conditions
Maximum Specific Pressure: Less than 5 MPa
Maximum Sliding Speed: Less than 40 m/s
Maximum Continuous Operating Temperature: 450°C
Maximum Short-Term Temperature: 700°C
Compatible Brake Rotor Material: Steel brake discs
Note
For optimum performance, brake pads should be manufactured, stored, and installed in clean and dry conditions. Contamination of the friction material with oil or grease may allow these substances to penetrate the material’s pores, significantly reducing braking efficiency.
Brake pad performance, including the coefficient of friction, wear rate, and operating temperature, may vary depending on factors such as vehicle speed, braking pressure, brake rotor surface condition, and overall brake system configuration. Therefore, laboratory test results should be used as reference values and may not directly represent actual operating conditions.
Overall braking performance is also influenced by the condition and age of the brake fluid, the quality of the brake disc, and the correct selection of friction material for the intended application.
